II LO Sandomierz
Free from Theory
On 23 May 2024, our students took part in the X Grand Final of those Freed from Theory as part of the first team extracurricular social project olympiad for students and pupils of post-secondary schools in Poland. The winners of the authorial projects competed for the distinction of the Golden Wolves. This year's ceremony was held at the Służewiec Horse Racing Track in Warsaw. The final was a summary of the annual social projects carried out in the X edition of the Olympiad Freed from Theory. This great event is graced by the presence of politicians, local government representatives, and representatives of the business world and social organizations operating in Poland. The idea behind Freed from Theory is to support youth in modern education, i.e., to shape future competencies known as the 4Ks: cooperation, creativity, critical thinking, communication.
The first group of students composed of: Roksana Pacholczak, Aleksandra Kaczmarska, Zuzanna Marzec, Wiktoria Moskal, Aleksandra Skrok, and Dima Laszczenko
in the project “NOBLE COLLECTING AND PLEASANT GIVING” drew attention to older people residing in the Social Welfare Home in Sandomierz and organized attractive activities during regular meetings. Meanwhile, the students from the second group: Nikola Dudek, Amelia Bidas, Maja Wiącek, Milena Krawczyńska, Blanka Ciszkiewicz, and Milena Błajszczak, as part of the project “YOUNG FOR CHILDREN,” participated in several meetings with children from the Municipal Kindergarten No. 3 in Sandomierz and made preschoolers aware of the importance of reading books. It was this project that was awarded the Bronze Wolf of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The substantive supervision of the youth was ensured by Ms. Beata Ryńska. The trip to Warsaw was made possible thanks to the kindness of Marcin Piwnik - the Sandomierz County Starost, who supports all initiatives of students and teachers.
